Milwaukee: Global Destination
The Old Farmer’s Almanac is predicting colder temperatures and more snow in Wisconsin. And, according to National Geographic, you can also expect a noticeable increase in roving groups of people with fanny packs and cameras in the eastern part of the state next year.
The publication named Milwaukee as one of its 25 must-see destinations as part of its Best of the World list for 2023.
It’s one of five locales listed in the “Community” category along with Ghana, Laos, Alberta in Canada, and the Dodecanese Islands in Greece. They cite the support of the local creative community as one of the reasons for Milwaukee’s inclusion.
While it’s an honor just to be nominated, we decided to rank the finalists to help those with limited PTO select which destination to visit if they can only choose one.
And after our honest, impartial evaluation, Milwaukee is our top choice in the category. The humidity in Laos would be murder on your hair, and there are few direct flights to Ghana. We figure Alberta has gotta be crawling with hosers, and while photos of the Dodecanese Islands admittedly make it look pretty cool, there are probably bugs or something.
Turns out Milwaukee is also better than the other 20 destinations on the list, too. Space prohibits us from providing the specific reasons for each here now. Just trust us. Milwaukee is the best place in the world to visit.
