Gobble, gobble, gulp, gulp
An autumnal variety that's a perfect complement to the finest holiday in the game.
Thanksgiving is closer now than it was when you started reading this sentence. Before you know it, the Packers will be kicking off against the Lions and getting the day’s festivities underway.
In our quest to make every social gathering in Wisconsin a little more festive, we offer a special drink recipe to keep the menu fresh. The drink menu, anyway.
You’ve heard of sangria? Well, this is Thanksgiving sangria. An autumnal variety that’s a perfect complement to the finest holiday in the game. It’s unique and refreshing and it also contains Wisconsin’s favorite spirit. Here’s how you make it:
Drink Wisconsinbly Thanksgiving Sangria
Two apples, sliced
One blood orange, sliced
Four cinnamon sticks
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 cup apple cider
1 lemon, squeezed
1 ounce maple syrup
1/2 cup Drink Wisconsinbly Brandy
1 750 ml bottle sauvignon blanc
Combine all the ingredients in a large pitcher, stir it up, and then serve over ice.
The beauty of a festive liquid boohah like this is you can use the recipe as a jumping-off point and get creative. Toss in some cranberries, pear slices, pomegranate seeds, or use a couple of different types of apples. Add a bit of ginger beer if the spirit moves you. There are no rules.
Well, there’s one. Stick with Drink Wisconsinbly Brandy. Otherwise, you risk ruining the entire holiday for everybody. And that’s your weird uncle’s job.
Cheers, friends. Have a safe, fun, and happy Thanksgiving.
