Visit a Bevy of Bay View Breweries
It seems like an ideal place to conclude a summer bike ride or run. Or, if you're less into the whole fitness thing, a halfway point to reward yourself.
The Bay View neighborhood in Milwaukee is home to an impressive number of craft breweries. And now, you can enjoy them all at once.
The Exchange is a new beer garden in Zillman Park featuring selections from seven nearby brewers. Component Brewing Company, Enlightened Brewing Company, New Barons Brewing Coop, Supermoon Beer Company, Torzala Brewing Co., and 1840 Brewing are all pouring there. And the MKE Brewing Co., which is opening a taproom in the former Tonic Tavern space, will be joining them soon. In addition, there are some local cider, sangria, and non-alcoholic options.
Bay View Community Center is running The Exchange. In addition to their regular hours, the space hosts occasional special events and can be booked by charitable organizations, with a dollar from each beer sold going to the cause.
It seems like an ideal place to conclude a summer bike ride or run. Or, if you’re less into the whole fitness thing, a halfway point to reward yourself. Or, if you’re even less committed to the bit, a halfway point that quickly becomes an endpoint for your workout.
Whatever you choose to do, you’ll find the Exchange in Zillman Park near the intersection of Kinnickinnic Avenue and Ward Street. It’s open Thursdays, 4-8 p.m., Fridays, 4-9, Saturdays, 2-9, and Sundays, noon-8.
All the breweries’ taprooms are just a short distance away, so you can easily go sample the rest of their offerings if you really vibe with whatever is on tap at the beer garden. Learn more at The Exchange’s website.
