Get Some Air in Milwaukee
Does pregaming enhance the experience, or will it just lead to unpleasantness for you or the cleaning staff?
The Big Bounce America is coming to Milwaukee, providing a different way for Wisconsinites to jump around.
The traveling amusement park features the world’s largest bounce house and other inflatable diversions that allow the gravity-bound to slip the surly bonds of earth for a few glorious moments at a time. It will be at Henry Maier Festival Park in Milwaukee from September 6th through the 8th.
Their setup is comprised of 10 different connected play areas, covering 25,000 sq. ft. of continuous jumping zones. There are giant slides, ball pits, climbing towers, basketball hoops for living out our Giannis fantasies, big ol’ couches and chairs, and a selection of oversized characters, who are presumably there for visitors to punch.
They have sessions for toddlers, small kids, and older kids, as you might expect, but there are also adult-only sessions on Friday and Saturday, which merit further investigation.
The organizer’s website provides some basic details but doesn’t answer the pressing questions that an adult visiting a giant bounce house will certainly have.
For example, what’s the record for the highest bounce? What’s the height of the tallest person a jumper has ever cleared, and will there be a tall dude on site for those who want a shot at the title? And, of course, what are the most people lying side by side that anybody has cleared in an Evel Knievel-style jump?
And what about best practices for a bounce session? Should you have a meal before or is it like swimming where you’re inviting tragedy by bouncing less than an hour after eating?
Then there’s the elephant in the room. Drinks. Does pregaming enhance the experience, or will it just lead to unpleasantness for you or the cleaning staff?
Also, is there a triage area with trained medical personnel on-site or do you have to find your own way to the hospital after attempting any number of foolish things that you read about in the Drink Wisconsinbly Week in Review?
You can learn more about Big Bounce America at their website. Happy landings.
