Football, Explosions and More Football
While this season has been a mixed bag, the Packers are still alive in the playoff race.
2023 is pretty much in the books. That was something, eh?
This is when writers and publications typically reflect on the highs and lows of the past year and offer some profound thoughts on what is to come next. However, since there are several hundred thousand outlets online that are better equipped to do that than the Drink Wisconsinbly Week in Review, we’re going to leave it to the experts and/or those better at remembering stuff and instead focus on wrapping up 2023 in style on New Year’s Eve.
No, not the style that involves fancy clothes and uncomfortable shoes. We mean regular-people style at the DW Pub.
That means no cover charge and no unrealistic expectations—just a good time with good people.
The Pub opens at 11 a.m. on Sunday for a full slate of NFL games, culminating with the Packers on Sunday Night Football.
And while this season has been a mixed bag, the Packers are still alive in the playoff race, and they’re squaring off against the rival Minnesota Vikings, who are extra fun to beat up on in nationally televised games.
As any annoying Vikings fan in your life will surely tell you, their team has been beset by injuries this year and is starting their fourth-string quarterback on Sunday, so our guys should be able to take care of business.
And, if the Vikings jump out to an early lead through rampant cheating and corrupt officiating, you can step outside and watch the fireworks display in the Deer District at 8:30 p.m.
By the time that’s over, the Packers will likely have overcome any shenanigans, and the natural order will be restored because good always triumphs over evil. And the Vikings always find a way to screw things up. Even cheating.
So join us. And, wherever you choose to celebrate on Sunday, we wish you a happy New Year. Have fun. Be safe. Call a cab. And let’s all kick some butt in 2024.
