Hoops and Hops: New Beer Drops

The Marquette University Athletics Department is getting into the beer game. They’ve partnered with Third Space Brewing to create a new brew called Marquette Golden Ale.

We have no inside information on this, but we’re just going to assume that it’s formulated to taste just like that first cold Red, White, and Blue at the Avalanche on a Saturday morning back in the day.

They’ll be pouring Marquette Golden Ale at all Marquette home games at Fiserv Forum, as well as the Al McGuire Center and Valley Fields. It will also be available at southern Wisconsin retail locations where Third Space products are sold beginning next week.

This new brew got us thinking about how the college basketball season has kind of crept up on us and how we completely forgot to do our annual Drink Wisconsinbly Season Preview.

While we’ve technically never done one before, we always think about doing one. So rather than let another year pass without hardcore hardwood analysis, we quickly entered some data into our new Drink Wisconsinbly AI program and let the computer do the math stuff for us.

And, according to the AI projections, the 2025 Final Four will feature the University of Wisconsin, UW Milwaukee, UW Green Bay, and Marquette meeting in San Antonio, with each having a 25% chance of winning the title.

Some may argue that we’ve calibrated our AI system to favor teams from our home state. It’s possible. But maybe the Rise of the Machines has started right here in Wisconsin. Maybe the computers grew fond of our clubs during their time of servitude and will tip the scales in our favor as they complete their conquest. Who’s to say? All you can do now is grab a Marquette Golden Ale, or whichever beer you favor, and see how this whole thing plays out.
