America’s foremost authority on love and relationships, ConsumerAffairs.com, has ranked Wisconsin as one of the best 10 states to be single.
The publication used data from the U.S. Census Bureau, U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis, and National Incident-Based Reporting System to rank the top states for finding love and those that offer an appealing or affordable lifestyle for the unattached.
More specifically, Wisconsin came in 10th place on the list. And since we’re not used to being anything but Number 1, we had the Drink Wisconsinbly Department of Math & Numbers take a closer look at the data. And after reviewing their findings, they determined that 10th place is the ideal spot for us to land.
After all, you don’t want it to be too good here. If you spend all your time picnicking, riding around on tandem bicycles, and playfully nudging an ice cream cone into your partner’s nose, there won’t be time left over for completing daily tasks and maintaining basic hygiene. And, of course, we wouldn’t want a bunch of interlopers from Illinois, Minnesota, or Michigan coming here to compete for the affection of our elite singles and then complicating everybody’s rooting interests on game day.
Yes, once again, Wisconsin has found a way to win even when we don’t come in first.
So next time you look to the sky and see fireworks, know that two of our singles have taken advantage of our ideal climate for finding a mate and are sharing their first kiss somewhere below. Be happy for them. The odds would have been against those two crazy kids anywhere else in the country.
